"We were so delighted," Marisa Frantz writes, "to introduce the first ever Shedd Presents folk revival show last June with Blowing in the Wind, and we’re even more excited to announce a second round of this fun show October 7th & 8th. We plan to revisit tunes from the original show, as well as mix in several new songs for anyone who wants to come enjoy the nostalgic hoopla again with us. There will be plenty to keep your ears buzzing and minds humming.
This remount, titled, Catch the Wind, after Donovan’s 1965 hit, will again journey through the minds of some of the most gifted songwriters of the late '60s and early '70s: Bob Dylan, The Mamas and the Papas, Simon and Garfunkel, and Peter, Paul, and Mary, among others we presented last season, will return, along with a few other folk and folk rock artists we'll be adding to the mix.
All of our fabulous musicians and vocalists will be returning for this feature! (And there might even be an appearance of the infamous white boots as well). With band director, Steve Arriola, and incredible musicians: Kenan Edler, Scoop McGuire, Paul Hobbs, Chris King, and Matt Taylor, as well as vocalists Shelley James, and Dylan Staysack, October 7th and 8th. Come join us as we bring the house down once again with some amazing folk and folk rock filled with beautiful harmonies and unforgettable guitar licks. Don’t miss this night of fun!
