Hoagland Howard "Hoagy" Carmichael (November 22, 1899 – December 27, 1981) was an American composer, pianist, singer, actor, and bandleader. The hit songs he wrote or co-wrote include "Star Dust", "Georgia On My Mind", "The Nearness of You", "Hong Kong Blues", "Small Fry", "Washboard Bues", "Two Sleepy People", "Riverbot Shuffle", and "Skylark". (1927).
