LUKE TURNER is a saxophonist, composer, and musician based here in Eugene. While attending Willamette High School, he studied under some local greats including Joe Freuen, Sean Flannery, and Roger Woods. For the last several years, he’s been playing shows under his own name, as well as a sideman, showing his love for the jazz idiom and appreciation for those who have made the music what it is today. He is now attending his sophomore year at the University of Oregon’s Jazz Studies program, studying under the great minds of Idit Shner, Steve Owen, Paul Krueger, Joe Manis, and more. Currently playing in the Downbeat award-winning Oregon Jazz Ensemble, Luke continues to be a growing musical presence in the area.
