A versatile and expressive musician, Buffalo, NY-based trumpet/cornet/flugelhorn player Tim Clarke performs and records with a wide array of creative, jazz-oriented groups throughout Western New York and it’s surrounding areas. A creditable performer of modern styles of improvisational music, Tim is a noted practitioner of “Chicago-style” traditional jazz, having developed a love for this music which goes back to the Chicago recordings of Louis Armstrong in the 1920s. In 2020, Tim was recipient of JazzBuffalo’s “John Hunt Jazz Musician of the Year”. A native of Eugene Oregon, Tim received his BA and MA from the University of Oregon School of Music and Dance in 1993. Tim’s fruitful relationship with the Oregon Festival of American Music goes back 25 years, first as a charter member of the Emerald City Jazz Kings, and later a featured guest soloist.
