Shirley Andress (Marian Paroo) is a homegrown Eugene gal! She received her degree in Music Education from the UO and teaches private voice in her own studio. Shirley fell in love with “the musical” playing roles in community theater at LCC and VLT. She began acting professionally with Ragozzino Productions and is grateful to continue her passion with The Shedd Institute. Shirley has been a principle with The Shedd for many years. She is a founding member and lead singer for The Emerald City Jazz Kings and for the past 6 years has assumed the role of artistic director for the group’s Christmas and spring concerts. Since 2000 she has been a regular guest artist at The Shedd’s Oregon Festival of American Music with Dick Hyman and Ken Peplowski. She has played leading roles in Crazy for You, Guys and Dolls, My Fair Lady, Annie Get Your Gun, Oklahoma, Kiss Me Kate, White Christmas, The Sound Of Music and most recently, The King And I.
