Summer’s the time for a musical road trip with songs about journeys and travelling. We’ll sing our way through a journey on bikes, trains and airplanes with songs like “Merry Oldsmobile” “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad” “Leaving on a Jet Plane” and “Bicycle Built for Two”. We’ll play rhythm games, learn the Brain Dance, explore musical instruments, and craft things that move us from here to there! Students can share the art they’ve made and the songs they’ve learned during a Friday performance!
Planes, Trains & Automobiles is the 4th of 4 summer camps offer by The Shedd Institute as a part of its 2015
Summer SongFest program for kids.

Each morning begins with a “warm up”, followed by learning the songs for the week’s theme. They will then get to learn about and play an instrument that has to do with the week’s theme. After a snack the campers will either get a chance to make their very own instrument or get dance instruction based on the theme. The campers end the day with a song circle to prepare them for their performance on Friday:
